Nature Explorers

Our after school Nature Explorers sessions invite children Pre-School – Year 2 to explore, create and discover the magic of the outdoors through play, exploration and real-life experiences, all based in our beautiful woodland area.

Nature Explorers

From den building and nature crafts to bug hunting and seasonal adventures, children are encouraged to follow their curiosity, develop independence and learn through real-life experiences in the great outdoors- the perfect way to unwind after a busy day at school.

Led by an experienced primary school teacher, and supported by an experienced Early Years Practitioner, we provide a safe, nurturing environment where children can build confidence, resilience and a lifelong love of the outdoors.

  • Children are to be dropped off for sessions; however, parents are welcome to stay and socialise in our separate Outdoor Classroom while activities take place in the nearby woodland. Basic tea and coffee facilities will be available for adults free of charge.
  • A snack will be provided during the sessions whether this is toasted on our fire or made by the children themselves. Handwashing facilities will be available.
  • Children should come dressed appropriately for the weather, including warm, waterproof clothing or sun hats and sun cream in warmer months. In line with Government advice, long sleeves and trousers are recommended to help protect against ticks when exploring outdoor environments. It is recommended that children wear wellies or old trainers during the session and change footwear for the journey home.
  • Handwashing, boot-washing and toilet facilities are all available on-site.
